Dean Kukan's agent André Rufener confirms to Watson's Klaus Zaugg that it "will likely be his task to deal with a potential return to Switzerland of his client".

The 24-year-old defenseman has a valid contract with the Columbus Blue Jackets until the end of the season. This season thus far, he has not appeared in a single game for the NHL team, thus a return to his home country does not seem out of question.

However, according to EHC Biel's team manager Martin Steinegger, who would have been interested in the Swiss international, he will not come cheap: "Bidding starts at a minimum of CHF 500,000. We can't keep up with that. He is someone for the big clubs."
