According to information obtained by the Tages-Anzeiger, the ZSC Lions have apparently agreed to terms with Fredrik Pettersson on a three-year contract extension. Furthermore, it looks like Niklas Schlegel might stay with the Lions after all.

Pettersson (photo) recently told the Neue Zürcher Zeitung that he was not ready to talk about his contractual situation. It looks like the Swede and the Lions were now able to find common ground and extend their agreement. The 30-year-old forward has recorded 21 goals and 20 assists in 38 games for the Lions.

As for Schlegel, he rejected EHC Kloten's offer and will likely stay with the Lions for another year, the newspaper reports. Team manager Sven Leuenberger recently also told MySports that he would be "happy if the goaltender were to stay with them". Schlegel has appeared in 19 games for the Lions this season, posting a .894 save percentage.
