The 32-year-old former Finnish international and 2011 World Champion most recently suited up for Rögle BK from the Swedish Hockey League, for which he appeared in a total of 35 games this season, recording eight goals and eleven assists.
Aaltonen has already arrived in Bern and will take part in the Bears' practice sessions with immediate effect, the club announces.
