Losing the playout final series against HC Ambrì-Piotta was too much. Head coach Kevin Schläpfer has to make room behind EHC Kloten's boards for André Rötheli. Rötheli is currently working as head coach of Kloten's Elite-A. The former forward will be assisted by his Elite-A assistant Felix Hollenstein and Niklas Gällstedt, who has already worked as EHC Kloten's assistant coach so far.

Yesterday night, EHC Kloten lost Game 5 of the playout finals against HC Ambrì-Piotta and thus also lost the series 1-4. In the League Qualification, which is set to start on Thursday, April 12, Kloten will have to face either the SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers or EHC Olten.

EHC Kloten's president Hans-Ulrich Lehmann already gave a hint about a possible change behind their boards for the League Qualification in an interview with MySports after Friday's game. "We will see," he responded to the question if Schläpfer will remain head coach. "We have enough competence - who's behind the boards doesn't matter anymore."
