His goal was to land another contract with an NHL-organization, but now the 24-year-old has decided to join Lausanne. The forward went to the US three years ago when he signed a contract with the Minnesota Wild. Bertschy suited up for the NHL-team nine times, recording one assist, and was mostly playing for their AHL-affiliate, the Iowa Wild (184 games, 76 points). On February 8, he was traded from the Wild to the New Jersey Devils, but again was in the lineup for their AHL-team, the Binghampton Devils (26 games, 18 points).

Before joining the Wild, he played for SC Bern for four years. Bern was also the team where he made his NLA-debut back in 2011-2012 season and won one National League title as well as one Swiss Cup title. In a total of 203 games for the Bears, he recorded 36 goals and 40 assists.

"I am very excited about the idea of joining Lausanne. The club has big goals and there is going to be a new arena. I will bring speed, energy and, despite my young age, experience. I am looking forward to meeting the fans of Lausanne" says Bertschy.
