Still according to the same source, HC Fribourg-Gottéron is apparently not expected to officialize this contract extension deal before the end of summer due to contractual reasons.
The 39-year-old forward and former captain of the French national team joined the Dragons on a one-year deal from HC La Chaux-de-Fonds in 2017. In 55 games for them since, he managed to record four goals and nine assists.
Meunier will be part of France's coaching staff at the upcoming World Championship in Denmark, supporting coaching duo Dave Henderson and Pierre Pousse behind the boards.
