Canadian forward Jacob Micflikier and American defenseman Sam Lofquist both have expiring contracts with EHC Biel and it does not seem like they will be back for the upcoming season. As the Journal du Jura writes, the Seelanders are looking for an import-defenseman in addition to forwards Robbie Earl, Marc-Antoine Pouliot, and Toni Rajala, who are all in possession of running contracts.

While Earl, Pouliot, and Rajala are currently practicing in their native countries, EHC Biel's Swiss players have taken up summer practice in Biel. The newly signed Dominik Egli, Michael Hügli, Rajan Sataric, and Mike Künzle are not yet with the team as they received some extra free time to recover from a long season. Moreover, Marco Pedretti (tonsils) and Kevin Fey (ankle) are recuperating from surgeries.
