According to Wüthrich, Genoni wants to make a decision within the next ten days for which team he is going to suit up as of 2019. As for the front-runner, Wüthrich only states that he thinks it will be between EV Zug and SC Bern in the end. The Lions are still in the game, but Wüthrich excludes the possibility that Lukas Flüeler (signed through 2020) and Genoni will play for them at the same time.
The netminder has been part of SC Bern's organization since 2016. In 46 regular season games for the Bears last season, he posted a .929 save percentage. His contract expires at the end of the 2018-19 season.
