Several teams were interested in the 24-year-old, among them his former team SC Bern. However, Kreis has decided, according to Zaugg, to stay in Biel.

Kreis himself remains tight-lipped about his future for now: "I've made my decision, but [...] we agreed to not tell anyone for now. My future employer will communicate the new deal next week."

The defenseman is currently in his second season with EHC Biel. In 19 games this year, he recorded two goals and five assists.
