HC Davos will have Andres Ambühl on board for at least two more years. The 35-year old has renewed his contract. He currently is in his sixth term with them since his return to Switzerland, his fifth as captain.

Ambühl is a product of the Davos-organization. He spent his junior years with them and made his debut in the top league during the 2000-01 season. In 2009, the forward decided to follow the call from overseas and joined the New York Rangers. However, he did not make the cut and spent one year with the Hartford Wolf Pack in the AHL. After that, Ambühl returned to Switzerland, but chose the ZSC Lions over Davos. He remained in Zurich before returning to the Landwassertal in 2013.

With Davos and the Lions, Ambühl has won the national championship six times so far. In total, the forward has played 957 games in the National League, recording 215 goals and 304 assists. He has also been a constant member of the Swiss national team, taking part in 14 World Championships and four Olympic Games over the years.
