With his contract running out at the end of the season, the 36-year-old is thinking about his future - and his family in America.

Will Jim Slater retire and return to his native country?

After four years in Switzerland and two seasons with HC Fribourg-Gottéron, forward Jim Slater will probably hang up his skates at the end of the season: "It's not a hundred percent certain yet, but I have the idea in the back of my mind," he explains to the Freiburger Nachrichten.

Although Slater still feels passionate and healthy enough to keep playing, he would like to return to his family: "I've been in Switzerland for four years now. They were four great years, but they were also four years in which I've lived mostly without my wife and daughter."

But one thing is clear for the American: "Should it really be my last season, I want to leave through the right door and play for the championship."
