National League

After having signed Ryan Gunderson, Gottéron's team manager Christian Dubé confirms his interest in Swede Viktor Stålberg.

Will Viktor Stålberg return to Switzerland?

"He is a guy I'm interested in, I'm not stupid," Dubé says to La Liberté, not quite confirming the rumors that HC Fribourg-Gottéron is actually the front-runner in the race for the 33-year-old Swedish forward. "He showed what he was worth when he was in Switzerland." Stålberg appeared in 61 games for EV Zug, in which he recorded 61 points (26 goals).

Still according to La Liberté, Andrew Miller and Charles Bertrand will have to leave the club after just one season. In addition to a possible arrival of Stålberg and David Desharnais, there is one more import-spot open. On their list are names such as Linus Omark, Kris Versteeg, Teemu Hartikainen or Teemu Pulkkinen, "but they're on the list of eight National League teams, not just mine," Dubé says.

If Viktor Stålberg were actually to arrive at the BCF Arena next season, the profile of the fourth import seems to be clear: "I can't have only artists. I also need a more hardworking element," Dubé explains.
