As La Liberté reports, team manager Christian Dubé is considering the possibility of starting the 2020-21 season with five import players. However, for that, his budget needs to be high enough. If that were the case, Brodin might be a strong candidate for the fifth import player spot.

Dubé told the same source at the beginning of November that depending on whether they decide to go with two import centers next season, they will not be able to retain Daniel Brodin. With the rumored arrival of Chris DiDomenico in Fribourg that condition would be met. However, it looks like Brodin might have a chance after all if Dubé has enough budget at his disposal.

As for the Swiss players, the futures of Flavio Schmutz, Tristan Vauclair and Adrien Lauper are still open. However, according to the Freiburger Nachrichten, Vauclair has likely the best chance of staying.

Dubé also wants to give Sandro Schmid an opportunity with the first team: "Once he is back from the World Juniors, he will become the center of the fourth line. I want to give him more responsibility." As for the vacant coaching position, Christian Dubé will tackle that task after the season.
