In spite of the sudden and early end of the season, goaltender Jonas Hiller is not going to change his mind about retirement.

Jonas Hiller retires at 38.

Before the past season started, the now 38-year-old goaltender announced that he is planning to hang up his skates at the end of the season. Even the extraordinary circumstances due to the Coronavirus did not change his mind: "For me, the cancellation is no reason to take on another whole season," he confirms to Watson.

Hiller also explains that there are basically two reasons for his retirement: the physical and the psychological part. "I had to demand more and more from my body to keep the level," the former NHL goaltender says. Losing his best game was something that he feared most: "When I do something, I do it right. That's why I prefer to stop a little earlier."
