Andrew Ebbett signed a contract valid until the end of the 2020-21 season with SC Bern. However, the second year of his contract would have only kicked in if he had met the conditions set in it. He did not.

As Ebbett tells Reto Kirchhofer (Berner Zeitung/Tamedia), he is not yet ready to retire and wants to continue to play: "I would like to stay in the National League."

SonntagsBlick already reported two weeks ago that Ebbett did not hit the "required number of points for a second season" and would thus likely have to leave the capital city. This has now become a reality.

Andrew Ebbett was an integral part of SC Bern's leadership team and wore an "A" for four of the five seasons he played for the Bears. He won three titles with SCB and was the MVP of the National League in the 2017-18 season.
