Beat Gerber will add a 20th season with SC Bern, as the club has announced. The 39-year-old joined the Bears in 2003 and has stayed with them ever since. In September, he surpassed Mathias Seger in National League games played. He currently is at 1202. Across all those years, the veteran has won six Swiss championship titles.
"Beat Gerber's qualities as an extremely reliable defender
are still undisputed and of great value for our defense. We are glad that we can continue to count on him next season", team manager Andrew Ebbett states.
For the time after his playing career, Gerber has already secured himself a contract in a yet-to-be-defined position with Bern.
