The project is not a new one. When building the Tissot Arena, there was the possibility of hosting an academy of the Swiss Ice Hockey Federation. While this project did not materialize, it is now back on the table, the Bieler Tagblatt writes. EHC Biel has commissioned the architect to prepare an updated feasibility study.
While a possible financing and also a schedule for the construction have not yet been set up, there is a clear interest from EHC Biel to make their own women's team possible: "We have already discussed this a few times and would like to realize it in the medium term," EHCB's CEO Daniel Villard confirms to the Bieler Tagblatt.
