The City of Zug and EV Zug have worked out a new concept to expand the Bossard Arena from the current capacity of 7'200 to about 9'000.

After their last concept was turned down by Zug's city parliament, the city and the club have adjusted their concept: The city will remain the owner of the arena, the EV Zug as tenant and main user will build and finance the extension on their own. It will cost the club about CHF 36 million.

The club and the city are currently working on a "memorandum of understanding" with all the details, which then can be discussed by the parliament.

City Councillor André Wicki is optimistic: "I am confident that this new solution will be viewed positively by all parties involved and will provide the EVZ with the necessary perspectives for their entrepreneurial development."
