With several defensemen's contracts expiring next spring, HC Davos has started taking care of two of them, namely Dominik Egli and Davyd Barandun. They join Klas Dahlbeck, Michael Fora, Sven Jung, and the new addition Nico Gross as the only defenders under contract next season.

Egli has signed a contract valid until 2025, but the agreement contains an out-clause for Sweden. The defender already had an exit clause in his existing contract that allowed him to move to Sweden for the next season. This option is also included in the new contract and can be exercised until the end of January 2024.

For his part, Barandun will stay in Davos until at least 2026. The homegrown 23-year-old defender debuted with the main squad during the 2017-18 season and has suited up in more than 200 games with them since then. According to team manager Jan Alston, Barandun has shown that he can handle more responsibility and wants to take on the challenge of playing an even more important role in the future.
