National League

At the end of his contract in the capital this spring, the defenseman will move on to join a new team.

His season having ended early due to injury, Mika Henauer will not wear the colors of SC Bern (or EHC Kloten) again. For the coming two years, the defenseman is instead joining the SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers.

"Mika Henauer is a young defender with offensive potential", team manager Janick Steinmann notes. "He has been repeatedly slowed down in his development by injuries in recent years. The Lakers are convinced that Mika Henauer will realize his full potential given a good role and in our working environment."

A product of Bern's youth department, Henauer made his debut in men's hockey in 2018 with SC Langenthal. The next season, he suited up for the Bears' main squad. In total, the 23-year-old comes with the experience of 154 appearances in the National League, as well as 63 in the Swiss League.
