SC Bern's roster for the 2017-18 season is almost complete. However, team manager Alex Chatelain is still looking for a Swiss top-6 forward as well as an import player, as he reveals to the Berner Zeitung.

Chatelain is looking for a replacement for Martin Plüss. Preferably, a top-6 forward that will not count against the import-player contingent. There are not a lot of options in the NLA, although Morris Trachsler might be an option: "Yes, Trachsler might be worth consindering." Other options mentioned by the newspaper are Josh Jooris, Sven Andrighetto and former SCB forward Christoph Bertschy.

As for Nico Hischier, Chatelain does not count on him joining the Bears for the upcoming season. Of the import players, only Andrew Ebbett will definitely stay with SCB. Noreau and Arcobello both have NHL out clauses and it thus remains to be seen if they will stay with the team. As for the fourth import player, the team manager looks for a forward who can play both center and wing.

Aaron Gagnon and Ryan Lasch, on the other hand, still have time to prove their worth to the team and one of them might earn another contract with some good performances. However, the Bears are, according to the same source, also talking with Cory Conacher (photo). The forward, who is currently under contract with the Tampa Bay Lightning, is also in talks with HC Lugano, though.

Goaltending and defense is more or less set for the upcoming season. As first reported by 24 heures, Lausanne HC's netminder Pascal Caminada will in all likeliness join the Bears. Furthermore, SC Bern will not acquire another defenseman. They will count more on their young players as of next season.
