In mid-March, the ZSC Lions' CEO Peter Zahner confirmed to the Tages-Anzeiger that Trachsler would not receive a new contract. One day later, the same source reported that Trachsler could thus join EHC Kloten as he wanted to stay in the Zurich area.

Trachsler joined the ZSC Lions back in 2012 and thus played five seasons for them. This past term, he played 56 games with them and managed to score nine points (three goals, six assists).
