Although Genève-Servette HC still has to name their head coach, according to Christian Maillard (Tribune de Genève), the team has already found their captain for the 2017-18 season.

It will be Kevin Romy, who is set to succeed American forward Jim Slater as captain of the team. Slater, whose contract with Genève-Servette HC has officially expired, led the team in the 2016-17 season.

Romy joined GSHC from HC Lugano in 2012 and will play his sixth consecutive season for them. Last term, the 32-year-old center was only able to suit up in 27 games (four goals, eight assists) due to a collarbone fracture, which had sidelined him for more than two months.
