As theTribune de Genève reports, Géneve Servette HC's new ice rink will be part of a complex which contains two ice rinks and a shopping mall.

The new arena of Genève-Servette HC provides space for 10'000 seats. Furthermore, the arena can be transformed into a 13'500-seat concert hall and there will also be an outdoor ice rink and a shopping mall. The project will be presented to the authorities at the end of this summer, a building permit is expected for 2018 and the commissioning for the 2021-22 season.

As Peter Gall, who is responsible for the arena project, says, initially he wanted to buy Lausanne HC. However, this deal never came about. Last September a first idea with the new arena project emerged and since then the project has been developed. The costs for the whole complex will be amounted to CHF 300 millions. According to Gall, it will be completely financed by private investors.
