Last summer, Frei had to undergo a knee surgery and missed the entire season. After a long rehabilitation, he was able to train normally this preseason and after two months on the ice he is finally feeling comfortable enough to resume game action again. The 23-year-old winger is going to make his debut soon, the Lakers write in a press release.
His last contract with the Lakers expired this spring. However, the club already announced in April that Frei would earn another contract if he is ready to play this season.
