Birbaum, 32, has played for Chamonix in the French Ligue Magnus since his former team, Martigny Red Ice, went bankrupt last summer. He has now made use of an option in his contract that allows him to sign with a Swiss team before the transfer deadline in Switzerland on January 31.

The defender has already played 711 games in the former NLA and NLB and recorded 32 goals and 135 assists.
