EHC Olten has decided to release head coach Bengt-Åke Gustafsson from his position. This comes after the club's administrative board expressed their confidence in the coaching staff just two weeks ago.

Olten has not been able to win a lot of games in the new year so far. Recent performances have shown that Gustafsson has lost the connection to the team, as Olten writes on their homepage. The 59-year-old Swede became head coach last season, when he replaced Maurizio Mansi in January.

His position will be taken by his former assistant Chris Bartolone for the remainder of the season. He will have the support of goaltender coach Michael Tobler.
