Under contract for one year, the Czech defenceman will spend the season in the Swiss League.

An import for the Rockets

HC Lugano have signed 22-year-old Jan Barkto. The defender joins the organization from HC Oceláři Třinec (Czech Tipsport Extraliga). During the last two seasons, Bartko mainly played for Třinec's partner team in the second-highest Czech league, HC Frýdek-Místek, while also making a few appearances in the Extraliga. Prior to that, he spent most of his later junior years with Třinec, having joined them in 2012.

The youngster will be suiting up for the Bianconeri's partner-team, the HCB Ticino Rockets, in the Swiss League the upcoming season. He will join the team as soon as all administrative details have been resolved which will occur by the end of the week.
