Due to the uncertainty around the state subsidies, SC Langenthal is neither signing new players nor extending any contracts.

"We don't know yet if and how many à-fonds-perdu contributions we will receive," SCL's team manager Kevin Schläpfer says to the Zofinger Tagblatt. "That's why we can't estimate whether or not we'll make a loss in the current season." They expect to receive word from the federal government until the end of February.

Until then, everything is on hold. No new signings, no contract negotiations. "We have (...) made it very clear to all the players that we have to wait for the time being. I think the players understand that," Schläpfer says and adds: "While other clubs had to cut salaries in some cases, we have been able to keep our promises. We want to maintain that."
