According to the Oltner Tagblatt, the Municipality of Olten has thus decided to grant the Sportpark Olten AG (Spoag) a loan of a maximum of CHF 250,000. This year, no interest will be put on the sum, as of next year, the interest rate will be 0.25 percent.

According to EHC Olten' CEO Patrick Reber, the Swiss League team had already asked for a rent reduction and/or a rent forbearance in June, as they expected a financially difficult season. Formally, that had not been granted.

Still, they stopped paying rent at the beginning of the year because a solution for the problem had not been found yet. Last Wednesday, representatives of the Spoag, the EHC Olten AG, and the City Council met to discuss the matter.

They have now provisionally agreed on a deferral of the rent since the beginning of the year until it is clear how much money the Spoag but also the Eishockey Club Olten AG will receive from the federal government and the canton.
