The reconstruction is estimated to cost CHF 69 million and should be realised through a public-private partnership.

The reconstructed arena will hold 5,810 spectators (3,335 in the seating area and 2,475 in the standing room). There will also be a second ice surface open all year around.

The project is expected to be completed in three years and construction work should be carried out in accordance with the league calendar. As for the financial side, HC La Chaux-de-Fonds wants to create a foundation, as Jean-Daniel Jeanneret, president of HCC, tells Arcinfo: "Unlike a public body, a foundation can be financed by institutional and banking partnerships. Private operating partners will be integrated into the foundation."

The Foundation will then become the project owner. The board is supposed to include representatives of the city (and possibly the canton) and the main partners. For now, the municipality has injected the current value of the ice rink, which is CHF 9.3 million.
