The 58-year-old Finn, whose contract is valid for at least two years, had been coaching the GCK Lions for the past six seasons. Already in mid-January this year, however, the Lions announced that Alatalo will be replaced by Leo Schumacher as of the 2017-18 season.
Furthermore, as the club announces, they have extended the contract of forward Andy Furrer for another year, until 2018. The 29-year-old, who is going to play his 14th straight season in the colors of white and red, appeared in 52 games this past term, scoring 22 points (six goals, 16 assists).
