Since he was signed to a three-year entry-level contract in July two years ago, the Florida Panthers' 2015 fourth-round draft pick (102nd overall) has appeared in a total of 98 games on NHL-level, in which he managed to record 17 goals and 15 assists.

With eleven goals and eleven assists in 51 games for the Panthers last season, Malgin more than doubled his point total compared to the year before (ten points in 47 games). "I want to take another step forward. I'll do anything to achieve that," he says in view of the upcoming season.

Malgin's Entry-Level contract is going to expire after the 2018-19 season and the 21-year-old Swiss-Russian forward will be a Restricted Free Agent (RFA) - unless resigned to a new deal before July 1. As Malgin reveals, however, he is not keen to change address: "I really want to stay in Florida long term."
