Meier was a restricted free agent and received a qualifying offer from the San Jose Sharks a couple of days ago. The San Jose Sharks have confirmed the four-year deal but, as per club policy, did not reveal the financial terms of the deal.

Meier comes off his first 30-goal season and broke Mark Streit's record for the most points recorded by a Swiss player. The previous record had been set at 62 points. The first round pick ended the regular season with 66 points in 78 games.
