Swiss National Team

As Grégory Beaud (20 minutes) writes on Twitter, Lausanne HC-forward Sven Ryser was absent from the Swiss national team-practice this morning due to an injury. SDA reports that he left the training camp and will not be able to attend the World Championships.

Ryser sustained a back injury in the second preparation game against the Czech Republic on April 5. Over the course of this week, it has gotten worse during practices and thus he will not be on the Swiss roster in Copenhagen.

The 27-year-old played his first game for Switzerland at the Karjala Cup last November. The SIHF will, at this time, not call anyone up to compensate for his absence.
