Currently the team manager of the SCL Tigers, Marco Bayer will have other roles in the SIHF in addition to those already mentioned: he will also be an assistant coach of the U18 national team during the World Championship and the Hlinka Gretzky Cup, as well as an instructor coach and head of talent sports.

Lars Weibel, Director National Teams, is very pleased with the choice: "We have been able to win an experienced coach who has already worked successfully at all levels of Swiss Ice Hockey. Marco Bayer is the ideal person for us because of his great know-how as well as his convincing manner and his distinctive communication skills. He fits perfectly to our coaching staff as well as to our strategy".

Marco Bayer is also looking forward to his new challenge: "After two years as team manager of the SCL Tigers, I am very much looking forward to being back on the bench and to continuing the path we have chosen together with the entire staff and to further developing the U20 national team," said the 47-year-old.

The CEO of the Tigers, Peter Müller, understands Bayer's decision adding however that "we are losing a competent and committed employee - a Tiger who has always been committed to the cause."
