His participation has yet to be confirmed by the Swiss Ice Hockey Federation, but the 37-year-old defenseman already had signalised that he would be ready to play for Switzerland in an interview with the Berner Zeitung this week.
Streit has been a constant fixture in Switzerland's lineup, if he is not busy playing in the playoffs for the Flyers. This year, his NHL team was not able to qualify for the postseason and thus he is available for head coach Glen Hanlon. In overall 215 games for Switzerland, he has scored 31 goals and 76 assists.
