"It was a huge step to move from Switzerland to Canada, " Sigrist tells CFJC Sports, "because the CHL is the best junior league in the world." The Swiss forward had been selected 42nd overall by the Blazers in the 2017 CHL Import Draft.

The 18-year-old played for the GCK Lions' U20 team this past season, scoring eleven goals and 24 assists in 53 games.
