Gaëtan Haas was sent down to the Bakersfield Condors by the Edmonton Oilers last Saturday. As the 27-year-old tells the Journal du Jura, this move was made to spark his offensive potential. Oilers-head coach Dave Tippett and GM Ken Holland appreciate the defensive side of Haas' game, but they would like to get some more productivity from their third and fourth line.

In Bakersfield, Haas is looking to get a lot of ice time to regain confidence in his offensive abilities. "This passage in the minor leagues can be positive for me for the future, that is how I take it", the former SC Bern-player states.

In five games for the Oilers so far this season, Haas has recorded one assist. He was a healthy scratch three times in a row before returning to the lineup for last Friday's game against the Detroit Red Wings and then being assigned to the AHL the following day.
