Back in Toronto after his season with Lausanne HC has come to an end, the 26-year-old has been sent to the Leafs' AHL affiliate.

Denis Malgin: Battling for a new NHL deal.

As Denis Malgin has not received the green light from Toronto to join the Swiss national team, he has now been added to the roster of the AHL's Toronto Marlies. There, he will have to showcase himself to get another chance with the Leafs in the NHL and to gain a new contract, as his NHL deal is expiring at the end of the current season.

With Lausanne HC, Malgin appeared in 45 regular season games in which he scored 19 goals and added 23 assists. In their quarterfinal series against the ZSC Lions, LHC's top scorer only played four out of six games due to a concussion (two goals, one assist).
