Lausanne's Tommi Niemelä to take over as head coach in Lahti?

According to Helsinki-based newspaper Iltalehti, relying on several insider information, Niemelä is set to replace Ville Nieminen as head coach of Liiga's Lahti Pelicans for the upcoming 2020-21 season.

Niemelä has been part of Lausanne's assistant coaching staff since Ville Peltonen took over behind the bench in 2018. Prior to that, he worked for the Finnish ice hockey federation, mostly serving as head coach of different junior teams.
