The 25-year-old winger took a puck to his face 25 seconds into the second period of Saturday's clash with the Calgary Flames (4-2 loss), and did not return to the ice afterwards.

As the Vancouver Canucks announced on Sunday, Bärtschi has meanwhile left the team's road trip and is travelling back to Vancouver, where he will be evaluated by the Canucks' medical staff.

Bärtschi is thus highly unlikely to rejoin the team for the upcoming road game in Winnipeg on Monday next week. In 30 games this season, the Swiss international has scored eight goals and ten assists.
