Medical Report

As like most of the other teams, HC Fribourg-Gottéron has resumed their on-ice practice today. Chris Rivera was still absent, but Lorenz Kienzle (photo) took some first cautious steps on the ice again.

Kienzle is recovering from a severe thigh injury which the 29-year-old defenseman sustained in the home game at the BCF Arena against the ZSC Lions on January 6. He was initially expected to be out for up to three months.

As for Chris Rivera, according to Frank Stettler (Freiburger Nachrichten), the 31-year-old forward is still doing exercises in the weight room only but might return to the ice anytime soon, too. Rivera has been out since January 7, when he suffered a concussion in the away game in Zurich.
