Fuchs had to be taken to the hospital after taking a puck to the throat in the first period of Saturday night's game against HC Fribourg-Gottéron at the Tissot Arena (1-4 loss).
The following medical examinations at the hospital revealed a laryngeal fracture. Fuchs was successfully operated this Sunday morning and is expected to be sidelined for about six weeks according to initial estimates, the club informs.
The youngster has suited up in 25 games for EHC Biel this season so far, recording six goals and eleven assists for 17 points.
