In the roster for the first preparation week, which has been released today, several players are missing. Among them is also Lausanne HC's forward Joël Vermin. According to 20 Minuten, Vermin is injured and will not be able to suit up at the World Championship.

Also the two ZSC Lions forwards Reto Schäppi and Pius Suter will not make the trip to Slovakia. The two players will be granted a break after a difficult season with various minor injuries. The idea is for them to rebuild and be ready for the IIHF Worlds 2020 in Zurich and Lausanne.

Moreover, just as Joël Vermin, also Genève-Servette HC's forward Tanner Richard will miss the tournament due to an injury, 20 Minuten writes. HC Davos' goalie Gilles Senn, on the other hand, is going to travel overseas to get to know the organization of the New Jersey Devils, who are in possession of his NHL rights.
