The 39-year-old forward, who played for HC Fribourg-Gottéron this season, will support Dave Henderson and Pierre Pousse by providing them with "his advice, his experience with the players and with his expertise in specific sectors". He will only serve in this role for the duration of the World Championship.

Meunier retired from the international stage after the World Championship in Paris. He played in over 200 games for France during his time as a national team player.
