IIHF World Championship

The World Championship will take place in Russia (2023), the Czech Republic (2024) as well as Sweden and Denmark (2025).

Russia, the Czech Republic and Sweden all placed their bid for the 2023 edition of the World Championship. With Russia now being selected as the winner by the 2019 IIHF Annual Congress, the tournament will be taking place in St. Petersburg, where a new arena will be built as part of their bid. It is planned to be the biggest hockey stadium in the world when completed.

In 2024, the Czech Republic will get the honor of hosting the yearly event, which is set to take place in Prague and Ostrava. For 2025, Sweden and Denmark will be co-hosting the IIHF Worlds.
