WOMEN'S LEAGUE

{sitelinkxoff}Thanks to victories against SC Weinfelden and the Neuchâtel Hockey Academy, the ZSC Lions are on top of the standings for the first time this season. The Lionesses recorded 22 goals this weekend and did not get scored on once.

Last season's champions are back at it: Ever since last week's loss against SC Reinach, they have scored 34 goals in three games (21 in two games against 5th placed Neuchâtel and 13 against Weinfelden). Goaltenders Caro Baldin and Laura de Bastiani were both able to record shutouts.

The scorer's list is also dominated by the Lionesses: Isabel Waidacher (13 goals, nine assists), Alina Müller (ten goals, nine assists), Christine Meier (five goals, 14 assists), and Nina Waidacher (seven goals, ten assists) lead the league in scoring at the moment.

HC Lugano also has inched closer to the champions this weekend, as they won against EV Bomo Thun and SC Reinach. Thun remains in second place and will face the ZSC Lions in the last game of the qualification round next weekend. Reinach is sitting in fourth place and has a one game lead on Neuchâtel who has amassed the same amount of points. SC Weinfelden, for their part, is on the bottom of the standings, they have not gained a single point with a goal differential of 7 to 42.
