The playoff final between the Lions and Lugano could not be more gripping – despite the two wins of the Lions: with a short burst of speed in the second period, the Lions laid the foundation for their win at home on Saturday. Isabel Waidacher, Dominique Rüegg, and Alina Müller, who already tied the game in the first period, led the team to victory. Evelina Raselli managed to add another goal to Lugano’s total in the third period, but that was all that resulted from Lugano’s effort.

An early 2-0 lead (two goals by Angela Taylor) was not enough for the Lions to win Game 2. Thanks to goals by Laura Desboeufs and Romy Eggimann Lugano tied the game. They also managed to tie the game once more after Alina Müller had scored a shorthanded goal. But all was for nought, as the Lions secured the victory through a power-play goal by Nina Waidacher in the 74th minute of play. The Lions will now have the first opportunity to close the series and win the title. Game 3 of the series can be watched live on MySports at 2 pm next Saturday.
