Lars Weibel, director of national teams, is happy with the development: "We're glad we were able to iron out and resolve the differences from last summer, and we're excited that Lian Bichsel will be part of the national team again for the upcoming U20 World Championship in Canada."
This past summer, Lian Bichsel declined two invitations from the SIHF to attend the summer camp and the preparation camp, expecting to be able to attend directly the World Juniors in august after an intense period culminated with the NHL draft. The management, however, did not accept the decision of Bichsel and excluded him from the roster.
Currently, Bichsel is in his second season in Sweden with Leksands IF. In 18 games so far with them, the former player of EHC Biel and member of the Dallas Stars' organization has collected one assist.
